Mission and Vision
Society For the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Brazoria County
Mission & Vision Statement
Mission
The mission of the SPCA of Brazoria County is to promote respect for all
animals and free them from suffering and abuse. No animal is turned away
from an SPCA-BC shelter due to species, size, or health. The SPCA-BC will
continue to accept all animals in need because we believe that all lives
have value. We dream of a truly humane world where all animal owners are
responsible and there home is available for every animal that needs one.
Until that time, the doors of the SPCA-BC will remain open.
A comprehensive animal welfare agency, the SPCA-BC is an open door,
private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The organization is composed of
committed individuals who hold in common the belief that the life of every
companion animal is valuable and should be respected and protected. The
SPCA-BC is dedicated to the welfare of animals and people programs.
Responding to the community through private donations, the SPCA-BC does
not place any time limits on animals waiting for adoption. We do not
release animals for medical research, nor do we support the release of
animals for medical research.

Vision
SPCA of Brazoria County is a community of people committed to the
philosophy that no companion animal should be born without a home. We are
committed to supporting facilities that:
• provide low-cost spay/neuter procedures
• serve as shelters for homeless animals until a permanent home is found
Our vision is to have a 100% adoption rate at our shelters by 2012.
